Following the May 16 tornado that impacted the St. Louis area, trained volunteers from GMA who are members of the Missouri Structural Assessment and Visual Evaluation (SAVE) Coalition stepped in to assist with post-disaster building safety assessments.
The SAVE Coalition is made up of volunteer engineers, architects, building inspectors, and other qualified professionals who support the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) by evaluating structural damage after disasters. These volunteers are specially trained to quickly assess buildings and determine whether they are safe for occupancy or require evacuation.
GMA team members dedicated their time on both weekdays and weekends to support SEMA’s emergency response efforts. We are proud to contribute our expertise in service to our community during times of crisis.
